The Full Gamut Story

Full Gamut was established in 2015 (formally ICC Imagetec est. 2004) and is run by Simon Olding, Kristy Dowsing & Francis Giudici.

The business was originally set up to make custom printer profiles for photographers but has expanded to include sales of inkjet paper products, EIZO LCD monitors, calibration equipment and high class inkjet printing services & custom framing.

The thing that really drives us is making beautiful images and helping others to do the same. Inkjet printing technologies have really blossomed in recent years and pigment inkjet prints are becoming the standard for long life digital output. It is a really versatile medium and allows us to experiment with a wide range of materials, both traditional and exotic.

Founder

Simon Olding

Born and raised in beautiful Tasmania, Simon had a passion for photography from a young age. This led to formal training in Scientific Photography at RMIT in Melbourne in 1988, and he has been at the forefront of technical imaging for 30 years.

A fascination with colour reproduction led to an interest in printer and screen calibration systems in the mid 90's and this knowledge has beed refined over the years to allow the beautifully accurate reproductions of our artists' collections that we see in our Gallery.

Supporting our artists by bringing these works to life and presenting them to a wider audience is the one of his driving forces.

Outside of the work environment, Simon enjoys experiencing the full range of outdoor activities that Tasmania is famous for including sailing, bushwalking and cycling.

Director

Kristy Dowsing

Kristy’s lifelong passion for photography began in the darkroom during her college years, where she worked as a wedding photography assistant in the late 1990s. She went on to formally study photography at TAFE, immersing herself in the world of film until the rise of the digital era reshaped the industry.

With the shift to digital, Kristy embraced the challenge of relearning her craft. Her journey came full circle when she returned to TAFE—this time as an educator—teaching digital imaging and portraiture. Over the years, she honed her expertise through roles in professional photo labs and by running her own successful wedding photography and editing business, which she continued until 2022.

That same year, Kristy joined Full Gamut as a Director. She was drawn to the company by its commitment to technical excellence and quality control—standards that continue to set Full Gamut apart in the fine art printing world. Kristy finds great fulfillment in working with emerging photographers and artists, offering them the guidance and technical support they need to confidently prepare their work for retail and exhibition.
